If one was hunted by armed zombies, what should one do?

Nightmares can be unexpected. No one wants them. Like someone was playing something in your head; maybe a recorded tape from the past, or a totally unreal video game. I recall seeing a horde of zombies. Their mouths and chests were soaked in blood. They wield broken pipes and shattered bottles. They shriek menacingly as they spot their targets. I was one of them, so I wanted to make a run for it. However, I also saw a man... I'm totally confused whether he was me, or was he someone else. We were in a tunnel with rocks all around us. Those craggy caves which doesn't invite guests. He ran to a rock and laid on it, his back facing the ravenous bastards. Then one of the took a broken pipe and pierced him.

Was he sacrificing himself for more time for others to run away? Was he out of his mind that he doesn't want to try and escape and give it up?Many people would obviously run for their lives to survive. Some would even retaliate. However, I do think there are such cowards who would choose to surrender their lives. This horrific sight, I feel... threatened...
