The Beauty Of Metallic Symphony

New Year

My life really is full of surprises. I hope this doesn't go on for the rest of the year... The very moment I woke up today, my body was stiffer than a rock, my head aches very badly, I barely had the energy to get up from bed. To be bedridden on the first day of the year... This could be a bad omen.

Last night I dreamed of some war. Although it felt more like a rebellion than a war, it was still scary. Me, with a few others whom I don't recognize at all, were fighting against an empire. The empire was... well... heavily armed. Soldiers carrying swords and large tower shields, and soldiers wielding gunpowder rifles and mounting on horses. Then there was this huge cannon shaped in the head of an Eastern dragon pointing to the west. Then on my side were some beardy people with turbans wielding scimitars and bottles of oil, and some wearing Greek armors(something like what the Spartans wore with the exception of their skins less exposed) and kite shields and swords and hammers. Then I was equipped with two Japanese swords, like well... Brave Fencer Musashiden?

Anyways, it went pretty awkward. I mean, my own tactical approaches in this dream was simply foolish, as to charge into enemy territory and fight the soldiers alone. I barely survived the reckless assault, wiping out one of the enemy's platoon of soldiers. Also, funny enough, I looted a red-edged katana and a green-edged wakizashi during the onslaught. Then after a while, I ended up in the Empire's main hall, with the emperor sitting on his throne, and two other men. What I found really, really funny was that these two people were the same people whom I fought in my previous epic dream; the muscular oaf with the shotgun, and the spectacle-guy with the pistol. This time, they were both armed with gunpowder rifles.

Then later, some matrix-style combat including dodging bullets and somersaults occurred. The outcome was me killing the two riflemen and the emperor kowtowing to me to spare his life. Then I woke up.

It would be downright silly for me to say that this will ever happen in real life. And I doubt I will even want this to happen. Anyways, maybe my fever for today predicts the future to be a bad omen. Maybe not. What I can say now is: I hope everyone in this world, including myself, can have a prosperous and beautiful 2012. Happy New Year guys!
